Senior Systems Field Engineer

This position requires some traveling to customer premises, interacting with high level management and technical personnel.  You will be required to be the subject matter expert (SME) with regards to network planning, configuration, documentation and systems maintenance.  You must be a creative thinker and dynamic problem solver.
(1) Working as part of an elite team of technical subject matter experts (SME’s) focused on local, national and global enterprise operations.
(2) Designing and implementing the physical network infrastructure, system operations, management and support methods and procedures of production and non-production environments.
(3) Implementation of monitoring and remote management tools and techniques to help guarantee 100% availability across all environments.
(4) Configuration, design, and installation of servers, network appliances, and storage solutions including NAS and co-location cloud based services.
(5) Troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and resolution and root cause analysis reporting.
(6) Lead enterprise projects, provide architecture guidance and application sharing support expertise.
(7) Provide systems and software installation, backup and disaster recovery and support.
(8) Managing infrastructure and design including physical hardware, Windows server installations, clustering configurations, and virtualization.
(9) Maintenance and service of hardware and operating systems.
(10) Administration of system performance and monitoring of security policies.
(11) Planning and execution of server installations, migrations including development and testing of disaster recovery capabilities.
(12) Developing, implementing, and maintaining tools for automating system administration, system management, and system monitoring.
(13) Providing subject matter expertise (SME) regarding the architecture, design, and implementation of new projects and deliverables.
MUST HAVE an EXCELLENT customer facing demeanor, with outstanding communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
MUST HAVE STRONG server infrastructure design and maintenance experience in distributed environment which crosses multiple physical locations.
MUST HAVE STRONG TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, ICA, SMB, and Active Directory experience.
MUST HAVE STRONG Windows Server 2003 and 2008 installation, administration, troubleshooting, Remote Access and IIS configuration experience.
MUST HAVE experience with router installations including Port security, ACL, Load Balancing and VPN configurations.
PREFERED: Cisco router experience, IP Subnet and BGP configurations.
6-10 years of STRONG/CURRENT Windows server, systems and network administration experience in an enterprise class, multi-layer, distributed and web services environment.
5 years experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office and Messaging Services
PREFERED SAN/NAS configuration and maintenance experience, with knowledge of commercial performance monitoring and management tools including capacity planning and reporting (MOM, SCOM, Coradiant, etc.).
PREFERED CURRENT experience with VMware, ESX, Hyper-V or other virtualization platform based technologies.
PREFERED technical skills with SQL databases, SQL syntax, writing and monitoring scripts, and creating automations and system control facilities.
PREFERED Certifications: One or more of the following MCP, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CCNA
